CHRISTMAS MESSAGE FROM THE LABOUR PARTY

The National Chairman of the Labour Party, Barrister Julius Abure felicitates with Nigerians particularly the Christian faithfulls on this years Christmas celebration. He also called on Nigerians to emulate the selfless character of Jesus Christ.

In his Christmas message, Barrister Abure noted that often times, Christians mistake the reasons for which Jesus Christ came to the world and lived for merely 33 years. This explains why the misinformed usually take this period as a time to engage in illegal and inappropriate activities, all in search of elusive happiness.

Abure said that Jesus Christ came into the world to bring joy by redeeming humanity from the sinful world. Being God himself, but He became poor that we might through Him become rich. He sacrificed His life so that we might through Him have everlasting life.

These two Christ attributes of selflessness and sacrifiality, Abure noted are lacking in most Nigerians, particularly, the ruling class. He said that Nigeria can only get better when leaders have empathy on the common Nigerians by exhibiting selflessness. This he said will bring to an end, primitive acquisition of wealth by a few individuals, resources that would have helped in putting needed infrastructure, building schools and hospitals amongst others

The Labour Party National Chairman said that until leaders of today imbibe the sacrificial attributes of our founding fathers including Malam Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Sir Ahmadu Belo, Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Malam Aminu Kano amongst others, Nigeria will continue to struggle.

Abure however called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to use the broom which is his party’s logo to sweep away corruption in the country, warning that no government can survive until corruption is fought to a stand still. He said that Jesus Christ is an example of a corrupt free leader, who scripture noted exposed one of his disciples found to be corrupt.

Finally, Abure urged Nigerians to pray more during this season particularly on the security challenges witnessed in the country. He however praised the gallantry efforts of our service men, the State Security Services and every other para military group for ensuring that peace prevails within this season. He tasked President Tinubu to ensure that our military is well encouraged to continue to deliver on their assignment.

Merry Christmas to Nigerians.
