Following the 2023 elections in Nigeria, the once obscure NLP emerged as the most dreaded political force in Nigeria and thus has been attracting very vicious attacks from outside and within on its key leaders and functions. Recently the National Chairman Barr Julius Abure has become their target for destruction and decimation of the Labour Party. Several allegations of wrong doings has been made as well as demand for his resignation.

Against this background, to enable the Diaspora LP and Obidients take a stand, we invited Mr Aburi to appear before us to make his case and answer questions. At the virtual global townhall meeting Mr. Abure had the opportunity to address the serious allegations leveled against him. He cited compelling evidence, including credible official records, police reports, independent and INEC clean financial audit reports, as well as testimony from diaspora corroborating witnesses. While Mr Abure may have his sins like most politicians, these materials unequivocally supported his innocence and highlighted his commitment to transparency and accountability within our party.

Furthermore, we are heartened by affirmation of the strong support of Mr. Abure from notable figures within our party, including Mr. Peter Obi and other Party leadership members. Their confidence in Mr. Abure’s integrity speaks volumes about his character and dedication to the principles of the Labour Party.

It is crucial to note that despite ample opportunity, his accusers have failed to present any credible proof to substantiate their claims against Mr. Abure. Their inability to provide concrete evidence only serves to underscore the baselessness of their allegations.

In light of these circumstances, it is evident that Mr. Abure has conducted himself with the utmost professionalism and integrity. As such, we urge all aggrieved parties to follow the Labour Party constitution’s due process for resolving conflicts rather than resorting to unproductive adjudication by media.

Therefore, it is with great confidence and conviction that we reaffirm our support for Barrister Julius Abure as the National Chairman of the Labour Party. We stand united behind him as he continues to lead our party with integrity, transparency, and unwavering commitment to our collective goals.

UNTIL SUBSTANTIVE EVIDENCE OF WRONG DOING IS PRESENTED AGAINST ABURE, THROUGH A DUE PROCESS, WE NO GREE FOR ANYBODY…….ON ABURE WE STAND!

Prof Eddie Oparaoji
Chairman, LP USA
