The attention of the Labour Party youths has been drawn to an illegal plan of invading our National Headquarters in Abuja in the guise of an illegal 1 million man march by supposedly some disgruntled elements who have always believed that violence is a tool in a democratic process on 30th July 2025. The Labour Party has disclaimed and disassociated itself from such rascality.
The attention of the Nigerian Police Force, Department of State Security, and all other security forces are hereby called to put a stop to this action, which clearly is a threat to FCT security, and possibly is capable of leading to a breakdown of law and order.
Given the fact that these threats have occurred severally without much resistance from the teeming youths of our party, possibly these dissidents feel its their right to promulgate violence at any time they so wish.
Let it be known that no particular individual has the monopoly of violence and that the Labour Party youths have maintained order all these times should never be misconstrued as lack of strength to defend our own party.
We can no longer tolerate these height of distraction coming from those who want to illegally hijack our party structures for their own selfish reasons. The Labour Party is an institution with an internal mechanism for conflict resolution which does not include insecesant violent protest, and it’s high time the entire youths of the Labour Party defend our party, and therefore, we warn the planners of such invasion to desist from appearing in our National Secretariat as hinted on 30th July 2025 or any other time in the future to avoid being resisted in such a manner that will cause a severe breakdown of law and order.
The Electoral Act, Labour Party Constitution, and constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria have clearly stated where the party leadership lies. The highest court of the land has equally directed members of political parties to obey their constitution.
Those dreaming to hijack the party must first of all go through the courts to nullify the Labour Party Convention held in Anambra on 27th March 2024, which produced the current executives of the party. We are not in a banana republic where anybody can wake up to take over a legal institution in a lawful country like Nigeria via an unlawful means.
To be fore-warned is to be fore-armed.
